The black and white patterns really do grab my baby’s attention, and the soft book is a nice touch for tummy time. I can see how it helps with early visual development, and it’s very lightweight and safe. The only thing I wish is that the book had a bit more variety in textures or sounds to keep my baby engaged for longer stretches. We got this for our youngest (3 months old) and it’s honestly been a hit from day one. The high-contrast black and white patterns are perfect for her developing eyesight she’ll lie there just staring at it with such focus. It even makes tummy time a bit easier because it keeps her attention longer. What I really like is how soft and lightweight it is. She can grab at the pages without hurting herself, and it even has a little mirror that’s become a firm favourite lots of fascinated baby babble whenever she spots herself! Plus, it’s machine washable, which is a lifesaver when everything inevitably ends up in her mouth. Definitely recommend if you’re after something simple but stimulating.

I am pleased with tummy time toy for babies and toddlers. I like the handle that makes the toy easy to transport and the velcro at the bottom that allows the pages to be fastened together. I like the way the toy has the black and white pictures accented with red for 0-3 months, and then progresses with more colors and a baby-safe mirror as the baby develops (3-6 months). All six of these pictures are on one side of the toy and the other side has six more sensory pictures that include some moving parts and sensory sounds and even a chew toy. I like the white ribbons that are between the pictures that allow the toy to be tied to the side of the crib. It can even be tied to the back of a car seat so that baby can look at the pictures while riding in the car or it can be tied to a car seat handle. It seems to be well made, but I don't know how it will hold up in the washing machine. I will wash it inside a laundry bag for delicate items. This toy would make a nice gift.

I often find that we have too many toys strewn about, and yet they’re too few when it comes to what the babies/kids actually need. That’s why I especially appreciate toys that have multiple uses. This toy covers many needs. - It can easily be put up in the crib to keep the baby entertained when they wake up (and you still want to sleep!) In this sense, it’s even better than a crib mobile that needs to be turned on. This remains stimulating without a parent having to turn anything on. - It’s really great for tummy time, especially when they’re really young and can’t yet turn pages. So while I wouldn’t call this a book, it’s useful for when the babies can’t yet use a proper book. There are stimulating “pages” such as a mirror, sliding airplane, crinkling sounds and touch… - The reason some pages are black and white, while others are colored, is because newborns don’t yet differentiate colors. They are more stimulated with black and white, sharply defined designs. Since this toy has both - colored and black and white - it serves babies through a long stretch of time. - The teether is especially helpful. It’s also helpful that it’s attached to the book. So it’s always within reach of the baby. Though other reviewers are concerned about the strings being a hazard for babies, personally I don’t share that concern. The strings are really short (as you can see in my photo), and in my opinion, completely safe. Of course, this assumes a parent is always nearby, as should be the case with anything. Though I’ve seen such books at slightly lower prices, the price difference isn’t that much higher to make me think this is unfair. Overall, this toy is really useful in so many ways.
